On behalf of our client, we are seeking an enthusiastic and professional sharemilker to take on a rewarding 50/50 opportunity. This role is about more than running a farm – it’s about strong stewardship, progressive thinking, and pride in the craft of dairying.

Our client is looking for someone who brings motivation, honesty, and responsibility to their work. The ideal sharemilker will be detail-orientated, organised, and proactive – able to manage day-to-day operations while also thinking strategically. Strong animal care, effective communication, and good record keeping are essential.

This is an opportunity for a sharemilker who takes pride in good farming practice, values integrity, and is committed to caring for animals, land, and people in a thoughtful and professional way.

Farm at a glance:

  • 360 crossbred/Friesian cows, preferred planned start of calving 15 July (or close to)
  • 148 effective hectares (100 ha flat, 48 ha easy rolling), with 85 ha effluent area
  • 36-aside herringbone shed
  • Feed pad, and two wintering pads, as well as ample implement shedding
  • Cropping consists of 15 ha of maize grown on platform, plus homegrown baleage and bulk silage harvest
  • PKE/DDG/Soy meal are imported to assist with hitting production targets.
  • Total labour requirement of 2.5-3 FTE
  • 3-bedroom home meeting Healthy Homes certification, with double garage
  • Located 25 km from central Whangārei


We are seeking someone who combines practical dairy farming expertise with a progressive mindset – knowledgeable in cropping and regrassing, attentive to detail, and committed to high standards of animal stewardship. You must be a competent in effluent management and experienced in feed budgeting (with the ability to demonstrate these skills).
