Farm Manager Research Farm
Amazing opportunity for an experienced farm manager to run our Northland Agricultural Research Farm and the three herds under a farm system trial. Plenty of support available from both the consultant and farmer committee. Great stepping stone to progression through the industry.
The NARF Farm is set up as three individual farmlets of 27ha. Herds of around 80 cows stay on their farmlets all year under different management regimes. Cowshed is 30 aside herringbone with automatic drafting. Halter technology will be installed by 1 June.
Skills & Experience
A choice of good housing is available, and the farm is 5 minutes from the town of Dargaville.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the key skills below
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with basic computer skills essential.
- staff management experience
- animal husbandry and pasture management skills
- experience in operating machinery safely and efficiently
- attention to detail and recordkeeping
