Contract Milker - Matamata
Our clients are seeking an experienced contract milker for a sole charge role on their 300-cow dairy farm near Matamata. This position is ideal for a couple, with the opportunity for a partner to provide additional support during busy times on the farm.
The farm features a flat to easy rolling contour, targeting a production of 110,000 to 120,000 kgMS using pasture, PKE blends, and maize silage. The modern 30 ASHB shed comes equipped with in-shed feeding and automatic cup removers, offering a great working environment. The herd is known for being calm and easy to handle, making the role even more rewarding.
Preference will be given to someone with good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
The successful applicant will:
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Be reliable and have good time management
- Have experience and skills in animal health and husbandry
- Have strong pasture/supplement management skills
- Be able and capable of managing health and safety
- Take pride and prioritise plant hygiene
